The right-back right-back in Kansas City, Pashaud Brilland, was arrested on multiple charges in South Carolina on Tuesday.
A police officer said Brilland's charges include possession of less than 28 grams of marijuana or 10 grams of hash, driving with an open bottle of alcohol, driving without a license and resisting arrest. He was held in York County Prison, according to the facility's online records.
The chiefs of staff said they were aware of the situation but had no further comment.
Brilland started 15 of 16 games in the regular season and all three playoff games for presidents last season. He had seven attempts and interceptions in Kansas City's 31-20 win over San Francisco 49ers at Super Bowl in February.
He spent his first four seasons in the National Football League with the Washington Redskins before playing for Green Bay Packers in 2018.
Preland signed a one-year contract with the bosses in March 2019 and re-signed another one-year contract earlier this month.
