Linda Manz, an actress known for her roles in Terrence Malick's "Days of Heaven" and "Out of the Blue" by Dennis Hopper, died Friday. She was 58 years old.

Her son, Michael Guthrie, started a GoFundMe fundraising campaign that announced she was dead after suffering from lung cancer and pneumonia.

Linda Manz passed away on August 14 after suffering from lung cancer and pneumonia. She left behind a husband, two sons, and three grandchildren who love and miss her so much. Linda was a loving wife, a caring mother, a wonderful grandmother, and a wonderful friend who many loved, “Guthrie wrote.” Thank you and God bless. Rest in peace. We love you, mom. "

“She was great working with her and I'm grateful that I spoke to her before she passed away this morning. RIP Peewee,” he wrote, sharing behind-the-scenes photos of the film.

Mansour's first movie role was in 1978's "Days of Heaven" when she was only fifteen years old. She played Linda, the younger sister of Richard Gere's main character Bell, who fled with him and his girlfriend from Chicago to Texas after Bill killed the foreman. 

Linda Manz also provided an account of the film, which won an Academy Award for Best Cinematography and a Best Director for Owner Award at the Cannes Film Festival.

In "Out of the Blue," she starred as Cebe, a rebellious teen who was obsessed with punk rock and Elvis Presley. Her most recent movie was in 1997 "The Game" starring Michael Douglas and Sean Penn, and appeared in TV series "Dorothy", "Orphan Train" and "Faerie Tale Theater".
