The Walking Dead showrunner Angela Kang reviews the activity pressed "epic conflict" end to the Whisperer War in the Season 10 finale, "A Certain Doom," in front of the scene's October 4 debut on AMC.

Getting from the nail-biter cliffhanger that finished the penultimate scene of the period, April's "The Tower," the survivors are caught inside a relinquished clinic tower and under attack from an amassing zombie swarm released by Beta (Ryan Hurst). 

Hellbent on retribution after Negan's (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) killing of Alpha, Beta will persevere relentlessly to decimate Daryl (Norman Reedus) and his civilian army of survivors in the last clash of the Whisperer War. 


"Throughout the season, these gatherings have been occupied with sort of a virus war, and now it's detonated into this all out battle to potentially common decimation," Kang told TVLine of the "epic conflict" happening in the blockbuster-sized scene. "There's bunches of degree to it, heaps of story strings going on with our different saints. It's large and fun." 


Other central members incorporate Carol (Melissa McBride), who swims into the zombie crowd in a guts-shrouded rain guard, and Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam), who gazes intently at certain fate when the pinnacle is attacked by Whisperers. 


"What we needed to show was the means by which gigantic a burden they are at," Kang said. "This is a crowd greater than they've ever experienced, and this is after Carol had the option to take out some of it at the caverns and some of it was taken out during the fight at Hilltop. So it truly is this David-and-Goliath fight." 


When The Walking Dead airs its Greg Nicotero-coordinated season finale, it will have been almost a half year since the scene missed its unique April 15 debut date because of the COVID-19 pandemic. With the hold up about finished, watchers can envision a Game of Thrones-styled fight to finish off the season. 


The authoritative end to the two-season struggle with the Whisperers is an "epic fight," Reedus revealed to Entertainment Weekly not long ago. "It resembles an all out Game of Thrones super war fight."
